Michael Christie, Advisor

Michael has extensive experience of leading large, complex programmes in the Defence and Information sectors as well as having broad international business and market development experience including the establishment of start-up companies and Joint Ventures in the U.K. and internationally.
Michael graduated from the University of Glasgow in 1984 and started his career in British Aerospace as an Aerodynamicist. Over 9 years, Michael progressed to become a specialist involved in the design of the Eurofighter (Typhoon) Programme as well as the providing operational support to the existing RAF fleet, in particular the Tornado aircraft.

Michael moved to a role in Project Management where he worked on a wide range of complex Programmes including T-45 Goshawk, a major internal change programme, FOAS (Future Offensive Air System), Astute Submarine, F-35 and Hawk as well as being involved in developing new markets in India and Turkey and running the Defence Information Business. These programmes led to doing business in c.20 different countries and included establishing and/or acting as non-executive director in a range of Joint Ventures.

Michael operated as a Programme Director on most of these programmes over a period of 20 years and this experience was all called upon when, as Strategy Director, he played a central role in the establishment of the FCAS (Tempest) programme where he was a founder-member of Team Tempest and was subsequently heavily involved in the integration of international partners into the Global Combat Air Programme (GCAP). In addition, during this period, Michael led the establishment of adjacent business opportunities in space and defence.

Through all of this period and beyond, Michael continued his hobbies of cooking (and eating), balanced by active participation in sports including triathlon and the individual sports (swimming, cycling and running).
