Future Lunar Dust Writing Technology
Many of the technologies we may need for future MoonXcribe rover fleet missions, such as writing into the lunar dust, already exist for Space applications. These include; solar photovoltaic devices, high specific energy batteries, power and energy management solutions, high resolution cameras and solid state LiDAR, communications links, and rover routing with detect and avoid autonomous system functions.
At the same time, over 400 lunar missions are planned over the next decade with launchers, landers, and rovers all being in production and some are even a part of current lunar missions.
Please don’t worry if some of the technologies sound complicated. We’ve been working with these and more sophisticated ones over the course of our professional careers for 30 years.
However, like we’ve said on the website such a future mission would be taken under advisement and be respectful of public sentiment. We believe this can be a very positive human endeavor with much spin-back science, sustainability technology, and STEM potential to help us here on Earth.
