Prof Nick Colosimo, Co-founder
Nick has over 33 years of experience in aerospace, space, defence and security as a strategist, futurist, engineer and innovator. He has achieved World and UK firsts in autonomy, sensing and Mixed Reality, achieving what many said was impossible against the budget, schedule, and technical challenges.
Nick is a natural collaborator and hard-core innovator with c. 100 patents (granted, published, and classified) spanning almost all areas of engineering and technology. Within the media he has been referred to as the real ‘Q’ (a James Bond movie reference).
He is an active Visiting Professor, a Chartered Engineer, and a Fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society, a Fellow of the Institution of Engineering & Technology, a Fellow of the British Computing Society, a Fellow and Council Member of the Institute of Innovation and Knowledge Exchange (the UK’s professional innovation body), and a Member of the British Interplanetary Society.
His knowledge and experience has been used regularly in support of the UK and US Governments, including direct support to No. 10 Downing Street and the Pentagon, where he was given the Coin of the Office from a 3 Star US General (Strategic Plans and Programs).
Nick has significant Space and Near Space related experience from both strategy and technology experience perspectives, working with a leading UK technology SME previously. Several of his patents cover manufacturing in space, near space solar energy harvesting, and swarming protection systems for satellites.
He has successfully managed million-dollar family businesses and helped his younger brother to create blockchain gaming world firsts, arguably the first NFT in 2014, and play to earn, through his advice and writing the Whitepaper that led to investment in XAYA (nee Chimaera), a blockchain gaming platform.
He is driven by a need to acquire and share knowledge (he has 6 graduate and post-graduate qualifications). Ultimately, he is fuelled by an insatiable need to create and pioneer solutions to the hardest problems including some of the World’s most pressing challenges.
