Sophie Harker, Advisor

Sophie is an award-winning aerospace engineer, trainee pilot and Analog Astronaut. She is currently a Assistant Chief Engineer of Electric Air Vehicles and has previously worked on spaceplanes, hypersonics and fast jets. 

Sophie is one of the youngest engineers to ever achieve Chartered Engineer status with the RAeS and has received multiple accolades including the Sir Henry Royce Medal, the IET’s Young Woman Engineer of the Year, and the RAEng’s Young Engineer of the Year. She has a Masters in Mathematics from the University of Nottingham and is currently studying a Masters in Sustainability Leadership at the University of Cambridge.

Sophie is also an active STEM ambassador and public speaker. In 2020, she co-founded Epistemic, a STEM outreach charity specialising in virtual engagement, inspired by astronaut outreach activities from space.
